No Surprise Here

All those political quizzes I take put me almost smack dab in the middle of everything. This one was no exception, though these things annoy me due to my tendency to "yes, but" or "no, but" almost all of the questions. Anyhoo - my results, in case anyone cares...frankly, I thought I was more of a pure capitalist than this.

I am somewhat saddened by your results, as I like to be able to say, "sure, I read some conservative bloggers too." How do you feel about having scored an "Adam Sandler" on the "Famous People" chart? I scored a Hillary. Thanks for the entertaining link!

Lance -

Weirdly, I thought I had picked more "conservative" answers than this. I wonder if maybe our perceptions of what constitutes liberal and conservative are skewed because we hang out in blogville--land of the extreme and home of the "all politics all the time?" Or maybe the past few years have polarized politics to the extent that there are no more really "middle of the road" views?

Adam Sandler, eh? Great. I'm a political Opera Man!

Hublet's score puts him in the big, bad meanie category: I'm a Republican - funny, since I'm not registered as one (though I do mostly vote for them - it's a weird Southern thing for some of us). I am a Social Conservative, and only 26% permissive (yikes - wish I could bring myself to be that stern with my kids in class). And I'm located between the Pope's hand and Reagan's jaw, a wonderful place to be in my book.

Were this information available to certain family members, they would just cease talking to me altogether, as opposed to the current stance of talking to me only when necessary.

Hmmm. I ended up in the lower right quadrant — just barely — obliterating part of John Kerry's jaw. "Centrist," natch, but that's largely the effect of the questions, which just like BAW I longed to amend or qualify, almost every danged one of them. It's very strange; from family and friends I get the impression that I'm a lot more conservative in both dimensions than this survey would have me be.

Have y'all considered that the survey may be skewed?

I ended up right on top of Robert Redford's head, which clearly means this survey tests my looks rather than views (or is it my age?). It is true, however, that if I somehow accidently ended up in husband of BAW's position, the only question is whether the Pope would slap me before Reagan ate me.

I'm sitting on the part of The Donald's toupee. Which is OK, I guess. I did notice that quadrant only shows pictures of Trump and Adam Sandler - an odd combination anyway - before one goes directly to Anarchist in the upper right corner. Skewed? Could be, rabbit.

I ended up right between Adam Sandler and the Trump's head, and just underneath Jefferson. Cool by me.
