Calling All English Majors

You know who you are, and if, like me, you married another English major, you probably have lots of books lying around that you keep meaning to tote to the used book store or donate to...well, SOMEBODY.

Here's your chance to help some folks out and clean off your bookshelves:

Books for Soldiers

A worthy cause, and definitely an easy one for the lit-nerds amongst us to help out with! Not that anyone around here is a nerd, of course.

BAW, anyone who uses "amongst" in American English is a nerd by definition. So count me in!

On the plus side, I've just moved, so all the little-consulted books are in handily-labeled boxes. On the minus side, half of that is schlocky genre fiction (mostly mysteries, some sci-fi) that I do like to dip into occasionally (I'm that woman in the interminable grocery-store line who brought something to [re]read along with her), and the other half is stuff I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy, let alone a recuperating wounded soldier. ("Hi, sorry about the missing leg, have some nice Walter Benjamin"? I think not.)

DVDs, though . . . I could go somewhere with that. My parents have suddenly, bizarrely cottoned on to my taste in humor and bought me things I already had for my last couple birthdays.
