Unholy Duo

If you get Animal Planet, you know what I'm talking about. Tonight marks the bizarre convergence of those two ubiquitous Australian exports:

The Crocodile Hunter and The Wiggles.

I'm not entirely sure WHY Wiggles are necessary during Croc Week--though I'd pay money to see Captain Feathersword tackle a live crocodile (not that I'm sadistic)--but I'm thinking that somewhere in Australia, a marketing executive is laughing.

Did I mention I'll be taping the excerpt to show my son, who incidentally is wearing his favorite shirt (a Wiggles shirt) today?

Yeah, laugh it up, Australian marketing executive. I'm gonna find out where you live, you bastard.

Oooooo. What time?

Tonight from 9-11 eastern. Last night Dame Edna was on there with him. It's been a very odd week.

I can tell you why they're on there:

"Wiggly Safari"--a trip to the Australian Zoo by the Wiggles, hosted by the insane Crocodile Hunter. It's one of my grandson's favorites. Captain Feathersword swims with the dolphins....shouldn't miss that.

Just a little cross-merchandising, that's all.

This is one of our son's favourite tapes - he loves the Wiggles (he's three, ok?). I suspect the Crocodile Hunter caved in to his daughter Bindi's pleas to meet the Wiggles... and "Wiggly Safari" was the result...

As an aside - Australian friends tell us that "Wiggly Safari" is not the Wiggles' best work. Good lord. I hope not!

just saw some of these comments here about the great ones...i mean the wiggles. the wiggles are fantastic, speak to children (young and old and overgrown) and have helped my little ones to sing and dance and how to be even more silly and more adofrable. thw wiggles are welcome on my tv anytime and a open invitation always exists to the wiggles for a wiggly party if they ever stop by!!!
